How to use this cost estimate for UK work
This page prices the materials in one cubic metre of the mix you calculated, using your own rates. It is most useful for comparing options — for example CEM I against a GGBS combination, or 20 mm against 10 mm aggregate — before asking a producer for a quote.
- Enter your supplier's rates, including the Aggregates Levy and haulage if they are quoted separately. Rates vary widely between regions and with distance from the quarry or wharf.
- Choose the unit that matches the quote — tonnes for aggregates and bulk cement, bags for site-batched cement. The bulk-density field converts volume-priced materials to mass.
- Set a realistic waste allowance. Small pours, trench fill in uneven ground and pumped work usually need more than a large, well-formed slab.
What this estimate leaves out
Ready-mixed concrete prices in the UK include items that a material-only calculation does not: plant, delivery, part-load charges, waiting time, weekend or night working, pumping and sometimes winter heating.
