Notes
Quantities are on a saturated surface-dry basis from the mix design. Converting weight to volume (cubic yards) uses bulk density, which varies with the source; the defaults (sand ≈ 105 lb/ft³, coarse ≈ 100 lb/ft³) are typical. 1 yd³ = 27 ft³. Cement is taken at 94 lb per bag; a short ton is 2000 lb.
How to use the cost estimate for US projects
- Cement: enter the price per ton (bulk) or per 94 lb bag. Type I/II and Type IL portland-limestone cement (ASTM C595) are priced differently in many markets.
- Fly ash and slag cement: availability and price vary by region; enter your local quote.
- Aggregates: enter price per ton or per cubic yard; use the bulk-density field to convert.
- Waste: allow more for small, hand-placed pours than for large slabs.
What a ready-mix quote adds
A delivered ready-mix price per cubic yard includes batching, delivery, short-load fees, standby time, fuel surcharges, and optional items such as hot water or ice, fibers, color and pumping.
