About Design Mix Concrete
Design Mix Concrete is an independent engineering-tools website that provides clear, transparent concrete mix design calculators based on the Indian standard IS 10262:2019. It is built for civil and site engineers, contractors, quality engineers, consultants and students who need a quick, checkable preliminary mix.
What we do
Most online mix calculators give you a number with no working. Ours shows every step — target mean strength, the adopted water-cement ratio, water demand, cementitious content, the absolute-volume calculation, the coarse and fine aggregate split, and the aggregate moisture correction — so you can check the result against the standard and your own project data. The calculator is free to use. An optional paid report packages the full calculation and a Trial Mix Sheet as a professional PDF with space reserved for your company letterhead.
How our calculations are grounded
The engine implements the proportioning method of IS 10262:2019. Where the method draws on another standard — for example the durability water-cement and cement-content limits in IS 456:2000, or aggregate grading under IS 383 — we say so explicitly rather than inventing values. First-instance assumptions (such as the Table 1 standard deviation) are labelled as assumptions, and any value the calculator adopts on your behalf is shown so nothing is hidden.
Important limitation
The calculators produce a preliminary mix for planning and study. IS 10262:2019 requires trial batches with your actual materials before a mix is used in construction. Always confirm the current applicable BIS standards, your project specification and trial-batch results before adopting any mix. Our reports are calculation records, not material test certificates or design approvals.
